Hunger in Peru still on the rise

Rising fertilizer prices have brought the world to the brink of food catastrophe, and Peru is no exception. In an inflationary context and in the face of an eventual shortage of food, the first to suffer the impact will be the poorest, many of whom feed themselves day by day in the common pots of their neighborhoods.  Fortunata Palomino, president of the Network of Common Pots of Metropolitan Lima, says that these organizations are already being forced to choose less nutritious products or reduce portions due to the emerging crisis. Currently, they ask the government to allocate a budget of 380 million (around $100M) to supply these food instances at the national level and to regulate the laws that correspond to them to avoid disagreements with the municipalities.
