Reality Check

Peru is suffering a serious food crisis, mainly due to the war in Ukraine, COVID-19 and the mismanagement(wrong policies and corruption) of the country. The National Society of industries reported inflation increased to 6.82% in March 2022, the highest in 26 years. This was due to the increase of food prices, energy and imported goods.

1.7 Million Peruvians living in extreme poverty and survives on salaries of $51 per month. While 9.8 Million subsists on $96 per month. Another study shows that 51% of the population is at risk of facing a food security crisis if the problems are not solved.

This is the reality of Peru nowadays.
