Poberty in Peru

A study by Apoyo Consultoría indicates that currently 1.3 million Peruvians cannot cover the cost of a basic food basket and go hungry due to the lack of action by the Government. They also argue that the figure represents 4% of the population, in which it is evident that there are about 420,000 more extreme poor than before the pandemic. Finally, the consultancy estimates that 1 in 4 Peruvians is poor, which implies that the country has gone back 10 years in the fight against poverty.
