Schools are getting geared

The University of Utah in Salt Lake had a waiting list of 3,000 names. So, the school leased a building from another college, converted an on-campus hotel to student housing and asked alumni in the area whether they’d be interested in renting to current students.

At long Beach City College, there are no dorms since most of them live with family or rent in the city. But a survey showed that 70 students lived in their cars. The school is applying for money to build some housing. So, in the interim, the school has allocated a car park for them, provided showers to them and organized Wi-Fi.

These are the kind of things you could ask the school or Student Union to do, to help the less lucky ones.
